Private tuition for children with disorders (ADHD-H, DYS,...)

Many behavioural disorders and specific language and learning disorders are now recognised.

This is the case for ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysorthographia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dysphasia, ... all "dys" expressing the idea of difficulty, disorder or lack, ... occupational therapy problems, ...

Aids are put in place for those who suffer from them, such as appropriate equipment. But school teachers do not always have the time or attention to devote to these children. Many find themselves looking for extra help, which they get from us.

Examples of specific private lessons

Here are a few examples of children with special educational needs and disorders that we help :

Boy, Canton Vaud

The distressed parents of this young dyslexic boy told us that their son felt he was constantly being criticised for not knowing how to read. Despite trying private schools to get into smaller classes, he was disgusted with school. It made him sick and he lost all confidence in his abilities. His family then decided to take him out of school for good and to do Family Instruction (homeschooling).

Some time later, they had the opportunity to meet Marie, our founder, who began working with him. He immediately felt at ease because his progress was valued. Marie was able to help him at his own pace. Today, she works with him regularly in French and maths. He has now caught up. His parents are happy to see him flourishing and motivated.

Boy, Canton Vaud

Suffering from dyscalculia, this child was getting unsatisfactory results in maths despite his best efforts. Marie varied the methods she used to adapt to his needs. She worked patiently with him so that he could progress despite his difficulties. The parents were on a waiting list to work with a specialist, but in the end, after a few lessons, the family preferred to continue with Marie because of her patience and the excellent contact she had established with the child.

Children, Canton Vaud

With experience, it's often easy for us to spot when a child is having trouble writing fluently. On a number of occasions, we have already spotted this type of problem in the children we teach. It can quickly become a real handicap for them, who have good ideas but find it hard to write them properly and who, what's more, are difficult for the teacher or the proofreader to read. We advise families and refer them to occupational therapy assessments for their children. As a result, two of them have since been able to use a laptop in class to overcome their writing difficulties, and one should be able to do so by the start of the new school year in 2023. We continue to support them and help them to get used to this new tool as quickly as possible. The two children who have it have made good progress and are now in VP (Voie Prégymnasiale).

Boy (11VG1), Canton Vaud

The son of this family who contacted us was repeating year 11. He needed a teacher who specialised in ADHD and dyslexia. Valérie was a great tutor. By the end of the 1st term, his results were superb! Nothing like the previous year. The student really enjoyed working with her because she always managed to make him understand the subjects.
